At Career PCS, our mission is to help every transitioning servicemember find meaningful work after the military. Each year, over 200,000 servicemembers exit military service and face the tidal wave of options and challenges.
The DoD SkillBridge program can be a secret unlock key to making the transition exponentially easier - if it was just a little bit easier for servicemembers to figure out. We are committed to making the DoD SkillBridge program more accessible and helping servicemembers apply what they learn to a career of better options.
Our goal is to make finding, applying to and interviewing with SkillBridge companies easier with a curated job board featuring DoD SkillBridge-approved opportunities.
When I got out of the Navy in 2008, I basically got a high five and a good luck.
I learned 2 things from my TAPS class:
1. You need to have a suit.
2. Your resume should be printed on 32 lb paper.
(Both of these are hilariously laughable to me today as I wear jeans to my fully remote company and I haven’t printed a resume in over a decade.)
When I completed my TAPS class, I had no job lined up.
I had no network.
I had no idea what I really wanted to do.
I had been told for years that:
These did not end up being true for me.
Luckily, the world for transitioning military servicemembers has changed a lot in the last ten years.
There are massive opportunities (like SkillBridge) for finding and landing great jobs.
BUT, only if you know how to:
1️⃣ Find the opportunities
2️⃣ Land the opportunities
3️⃣ Turn the opportunities into real answers to all the career questions you have
So that’s why Andrew and I created CareerPCS.com.
We know how to nail all 3 of those things and believe that the most important thing we can do in life is turnaround and help the people behind us.
People like you.
People trying to answer the question “Now what?”
People wondering what they actually WANT to do.
People trying to figure out what all the civilian job titles and requirements mean.
CareerPCS.com makes it easier to find and land great SkillBridge internships.
Don’t learn the hard way like we did.
Let us help connect you to your future.

FORMER INFANTRY OFFICER
Andrew is a U.S. Army Infantry Officer who successfully transitioned into entrepreneurship. A year before leaving the service, he founded FitTech company GORX Fitness ('Go' RX). Despite knowing virtually nothing about starting a software company, Andrew leveraged the Army's Career Skills Program (CSP) to complete a six-month remote Software Engineering boot camp at UNC-Chapel Hill.
What Andrew thought was adequate preparation, reality proved otherwise. After leaving the Army, he faced four months of unemployment and submitted over 200 job applications before securing an excellent position with a tech company in Oil and Gas—only to later experience downsizing. His journey provided Andrew with the unique perspective and skills needed to create a better transition experience for fellow servicemembers. This led him to launch CareerPCS.com, a venture he remains fully committed to today.
Building on Career PCS successes, Andrew also serves as a consultant for Umbrage, part of the global management consulting firm Bain & Company, where he applies his technical expertise to craft end-to-end digital products for enterprise clients.
FORMER EOD Officer
Kathy started her career as a Navy Diver and Bomb Technician, traveling the globe, disarming explosives and facing high-pressure situations. When her service ended, she failed to land a “real job” and instead leapt into the adrenaline-fueled world of stunt doubling where she learned to network her face off.
Over the following years, she successfully networked her way into multiple industries: government contract proposal writing, Facebook, health tech, and fitness tech. Each pivot required a new understanding of what was ahead so she could translate her past experience. Rather than keep that knowledge to herself, she is very active on LinkedIn and other social platforms teaching veterans how to land better jobs.
